NICE guidance recommends CYP2C19 testing before prescribing Clopidogrel for patients following a new stroke or transient ischaemic attack (TIA). However, these recommendations do not extend to the many patients already prescribed Clopidogrel after a previous stroke, heart attack, stent placement, or clot diagnosis.
