Mantara wins prestigious PING Innovation Award 2023

We are delighted to share the news that we have won the 2023 PING Innovation Award for our transformative pharmacogenomics (PGx) saliva-based test, another major step in personalised medicine. This award, organised by national law firm VWV, recognises the most innovative ideas, products, services or processes in the Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences sector.

Our PGx test is a simple and non-invasive saliva test that analyses a person's genetic profile and predicts how they will respond to various medications. The test helps doctors prescribe the right drug, at the right dose, first time for each patient, therefore reducing the risk of adverse reactions and improving treatment outcomes.

We are honoured and thrilled to receive this prestigious award. It is testament to our team's hard work and dedication to developing innovative solutions that improve patient care and quality of life.

Thank you to VWV, the organisers of the event, and the selection committee for recognising our achievement and potential.

Mantara Health named Medtech & Healthtech winner at North-East, Yorkshire and the Humber StartUp Awards final.

By developing the innovative Mantara PGx DNA Test in the fast-growing field of pharmacogenomics, Mantara Health are delighted to have been named as the MedTech & HealthTech winner at the North East, Yorkshire, and the Humber finals of the StartUp Awards 2023 on Thursday 11th May.

The StartUp Awards were established in 2022 to highlight the success of startups across nine UK nations and regions, and to celebrate the achievements of entrepreneurs in all sectors of the economy.

The North Year, Yorkshire and the Humber final was held at the Boiler Shop in Newcastle and saw 33 different awards given out to new businesses in categories such as Consumer Services StartUp, Rebel StartUp of the Year and Social Enterprise StartUp of the Year.

Offer gene test to stroke patients, NHS told

People who have had a stroke caused by a blood clot should have a DNA test to see whether they can be given a drug to help prevent more brain attacks, new draft guidelines for the NHS say.

Stroke risk increases when someone has had one previously, which is why preventive medication is recommended. But a standard anti-clot drug, clopidogrel, works well for patients with certain genes only.

Others need a different protective drug - so the gene check could save lives.
